Reviews

Below are a selection of guest reviews that our hotel & restaurant has received over the past few years. Please email us if you have a new review you wish us to add here.

'Fabulous 2* hotel'
"Stayed here with family for 9 nights. Location is stunning, food is fantastic, rooms are what you'd expect in a 2* hotel - basic but do the business - as is the price (great value). Staff friendly and attentive. All in all a great place to stay on a great island." July 2011

'Location and Food in abundance'
"I took my wife and her sister for a week and we certainly enjoyed the food, too much really for us geriatrics but quality and presentation was great. The view from the dining table was outstanding. Bar meals shared the same menu. The public bar was lively and that's where the locals gathered. Our rooms were newly decorated - my sister in law had the sea view and enjoyed a wonderful sunset which we missed as our room faced inland. I would ask for a room on the first floor next time - we felt our age after a day out exploring and climbing back to our 2nd floor rooms.

Location is great for walkers or for the kids on the beach. A short walk at sunset was rewarded with glorious sunsets most nights. We hired a car and 'did' the sights, including Herm - no ditsnces involved of course, just narrow roads and lanes. I have left a short video on youtube to give a flavour of this lovely island." '4* service, 2* price'
"We were made to feel so welcome by Sabrina and the hotel staff. The Imperial is in a great spot if you like good old-fashioned peace and relaxation, with views and service you can't fault. It was a perfect base for us and the dogs, who loved running on the beach right outside. The bus stops right outside and goes direct to town and the airport. OK, the place is a bit tired, but you get past that very quickly with the friendliness and helpfulness of the front of house staff. Oh, and great food too! What lovely people!" April 2011

'What a view - ask for room 9!'
"Excellent location and room 9 is the place to stay. Very welcoming staff and superb food especially the evening meal - almost 5 star food and service. Would definitely return and very good value for money." April 2011

'Perfect break'
My husband and I stayed at the Imperial for three nights with our little dog and were delighted with our stay. The staff are really friendly and efficient, especially Chris the bar manager who is great at his job and seems to really enjoy it. Our dog was made welcome too and you can eat in the public bar which was handy so we could take our dog in with us which brings me on to the food which was delicious and very good value.

The location is perfect for dog walking as well, it was very relaxing staying here and thanks to Luke at reception who was very helpful. January 2011

'Brilliant'
"This stay was a gift from my wife for my 60th birthday to which my cousin and his wife also came with us. I've read some of the other reviews and yes the Imperial doesn't match up to a 4 star hotel and that's because it's not but it is a very good 2 star with extra friendly staff who go that extra mile to make your stay a pleasant and momorable one.

The food served here matches up to any 4 star hotel and was utterly delicious both for breakfast and evening meals and it's going to take a long time for me to lose the weight I must have put on.

The free car hire was a bonus and helped us to see all the island in the four days we were there.

A truly fantastic experience at the Imperial and many thanks to Sabrina, Gavin and Luke and all their staff especially Laura for making my birthday such a special one.
